5.8.4 CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE TYRE PRESURE

(fi g. 9)

CAUTION: Before proceeding, always read the safety regulations for the operations to be carried out

as set out in Chapter 3.

CAUTION: Tyre maintenance and infl ation are potentially dangerous operations. If possible, it is

advisable to have tyre maintenance and fi tting carried out by a SPECIALISED CENTRE or
SKILLED PERSONNEL.

Upon delivery of the vehicle, check the tyre infl ation pressure and subsequently check it weekly.

Make sure that the tyres are infl ated to the pressure specifi ed by the manufacturer.

Check the tyre pressure when they are cold.

The infl ation pressure also determines the weight a tyre can support. Identify the tyre sizes in the pressure and
loads table. Do not over- or under-infl ate the tyres.

Incorrect tyre infl ation causes tyre problems, therefore do not under-infl ate

If a tyre has completely defl ated, call in a mechanic who will use an infl ation cradle and suitable tools.

Before infl ating a tyre, check that the wheel is properly fi tted.

Only use air pumps fi tted with a pressure regulator to be set to no more than 1 bar above the specifi ed tyre
infl ation pressure.

Make sure that the fl exible air hose is properly connected to the tyre valve.

CAUTION: Check and tighten the rim bolts before each work shift, alternately going from one bolt to

the one diametrically opposite in the order shown in the fi gure.
