5.7.2 CLEANING AND DRAINING THE FUEL TANK

(fi g. 4)

CAUTION: Before proceeding, always read the safety regulations for the operations to be carried out

as set out in Chapter 3.

Extinguish all smoking
materials and open
fl ames as there may be
fl ammable vapours.

With the engine off, position an adequately-
sized container under the fuel tank. Unscrew
the cap

and let the fuel fl ow out until it is

clean and free of impurities that have remained
at the bottom of the tank.

5.7.3 FIFTH WHEEL LUBRICATION

(fi g. 5)

- Park the vehicle on fl at ground and make sure the drum is empty.

- After the drum has been raised, engage the drum descent stop lock by turning the two handles

of the lifting

cylinder cocks, lastly turn it so the rack can be accessed easily.

- Turn the engine off, take the ignition key out and make certain the parking brake is on.

- Lubricate pinion

with grease using a hard bristle brush.

- Grease the internal rack

with the nipples.
