Chapter 8: Diagnostic and Repair Procedures

Verify the 4-Way Valve coil's resistance is within the range
listed below, and replace if necessary:

Note

If intermittent or erratic rejector operation continues, contact
Industrial Dynamics Customer Service for assistance.

Containers are not rejected

1.

Is the reject signal being sent by the inspection unit. Is the
inspector detecting any rejects? Pass a reject test bottle through
the Inspection System. With the reject switch set to ON, the
rejector should ﬁre and the Reject LED on the processor card
should ﬂash.

2.

Insufﬁcient or no compressed air. Open valve to air supply and
adjust regulator air pressure to 65 psi.

3.

Air lines contaminated or blocked. Check all air lines to be sure
they are free from contamination and that air passes through
them freely.

4.

Air pressure is incorrect. Adjust pressure to setting established
during calibration procedure.

5.

Rejector assembly has malfunctioned. Inspect the rejector arm
as described in the

Routine Preventative Maintenance

procedures

6.

4-Way Valve is defective. No audible click after reject pulse is
received. Replace the 4-Way Valve.

7.

Containers improperly positioned on the conveyor. Review the
Installation section for proper installation.

All containers are rejected

1.

The ﬁll level calibration is incorrect and all containers are regis-
tering as rejects.

2.

If system uses multiple container types, is the correct container
type selected?
