Connecting the field bus

3.7.1

Field bus cable

Note

If  installation  has  not  been  carried  out  correctly  and  if  high
baud  rates  are  used,  data  transmission  errors  may  occur
as  a  result  of  signal  reflections  and  attenuations.
Causes  of  the  transmission  faults  can  be:

missing or incorrect terminating resistor

incorrect screening/shield connection

branches

too long or not terminated branch lines

transmission over long distances

unsuitable cables.

Observe  the  cable  specifications.  For  information  on  the
cable  type  refer  to  the  manual  for  your  controller  or  to  CIA
specification  DS102.

Note

If  the  SFC−LAC  is  fitted  onto  the  moving  part  of  a  machine,
the  field  bus  cable  on  the  moving  part  must  be  provided
with  strain  relief.  Please  observe  also  the  relevant  regula
tions  in  EN60204  part  1.

Use a twisted−pair screened 4−wire cable as the field bus
cable.

If the field bus plug FBS−SUB−9−BU−2x5POL−B is used, a cable
diameter of 5
