Procedure
DANGER
Serious crushing due to axis movements of the planar surface gantry.
• Push or traverse the Y-axis (cross-brace) and the Y-axis slide slowly.
• Make sure that no one is located in the movement area during the axis movements.
DANGER
If the planar surface gantry is mounted vertically
Serious crushing by falling or movements of the Y-axis (cross-brace).
• Make sure that there are no persons under the Y-axis (cross-brace).
NOTICE
Motors with brake prevent manual movement of the Y-axis (cross-brace) and the Y-axis slide.
• The planar surface gantry must be connected and ready for operation.
• Push or traverse the Y-axis (cross-brace) and the Y-axis slide manually.

Recommendation
• Use a mirror to locate the lubrication nipples in the maintenance opening on the bottom of the
Y-axis (cross-brace).
• Save the positions of the lubrication nipples in a maintenance program.
1. Lubricate the X-axis guide carriages at the 4 lubrication nipples

with half of the specified
lubricant volume.
2. Traverse the Y-axis (cross-brace) to a suitable position for access to the maintenance opening

3. Traverse the Y-axis slide until the lubrication nipples

are accessible one after the other in the
maintenance opening.
Number of lubrication nipples:
–
EXCH-40: 2
–
EXCH-60: 3
4. Lubricate the Y-axis (cross-brace) guide carriages at the lubrication nipples with half of the
specified lubricant volume.
5. Move the Y-axis (cross-brace) and the Y-axis slide once along the entire stroke to evenly distribute
the lubricant in the linear guides.
6. Carry out steps 1. … 5. repeatedly.
