For your safety.
Do not use this power tool before you have thor-
oughly read and completely understood this
Instruction Manual and the enclosed “General
Safety Instructions” (document number
3 41 30 054 06 1). The documents mentioned should be
kept for later use and enclosed with the power tool,
should it be passed on or sold.
Please also observe the relevant national industrial safety
regulations.
Special safety instructions.
Use the auxiliary handles supplied with the power tool.
A
loss of control over the power tool can cause personal
injuries.
Secure the workpiece firmly.
A work piece that is gripped
tightly in a clamping device or vice, is more secure than if
held by hand.
Hold the power tool firmly and only position it onto screws
or nuts whilst it is switched off.
It is possible that strong,
sudden jerking reactions occur.
Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when per-
forming an operation where the cutting accessory may con-
tact hidden wiring or its own cord.
Cutting accessory
contacting a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of
the power tool “live” and shock the operator.
Do not rivet or screw any name-plates or signs onto the
power tool.
If the insulation is damaged, protection against
an electric shock will be ineffective. Adhesive labels are
recommended.
Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed
and recommended by the power tool manufacturer.
Safe
operation is not ensured merely because an accessory fits
your power tool.
Clean the ventilation openings on the power tool at regular
intervals using non-metal tools.
The blower of the motor
draws dust into the housing. An excessive accumulation
of metallic dust can cause an electrical hazard.
Before putting into operation, check the mains connection
and the mains plug for damage.
Intended use of the power tool:
Hand-guided drive impact wrench for commercial use for
tightening and loosening screws and nuts in weather-pro-
tected environments using the application tools and
accessories recommended by FEIN.
Note:
When using for soft screwdriving connections (e.g.,
large wood screws), increased wear of power tool com-
ponents is possible due to their high loading.
Operating instructions.
Adjust the rotation direction only when the machine is at
a complete stop.
The diagrams at the end of this instruction manual
approximately show the impact duration required to
achieve a specified torque. The values apply for 100 %-
setting of the dial control (where applicable).
The torque reached must be checked with a torque
wrench, whereby the tightening torque is to be deter-
mined, and not the loosening torque.
Adjusting the tightening torque.
ASbe 642, ASbe 647-1, ASbe 648:
The speed can be
reduced with the speed dial control, which leads to a flat-
tening of the torque characteristic.
ASb 636-EC2, ASb 647-1-EC2, ASb 648-EC2, ASb 658-1-EC2:
For repetitive screwdriving operations, continuous tor-
ques (± 10 %) can be achieved with the EC2 controller.
60–100 % of the maximum value can be variably
adjusted. When the selected torque is reached, the con-
troller switches the drive impact wrench off.
An already tightened screw may not be retightened.
ASbe 647-1, ASbe 648, ASb 658-1:
In left-rotation mode,
the power tool operates with maximum speed/torque
independent of the speed setting.
Repair and customer service.
Blow out the interior of the power tool at
regular intervals from outside through the air
vents with dry, compressed air.
Lubricate the output shaft each month, or even
more often in case of frequent usage and heavy
loading.
If the supply cord of this power tool is damaged it must
be replaced by a specially prepared cord available
through the FEIN customer service centre.
If required, you can change the following parts yourself:
application tools
