Safety Messages to Installers and Users
:
Product should be installed by a licensed electrician and follow all
safety instructions. Failure to do so may result in property damage, serious injury, or death.

HIGH VOLTAGE SHOCK HAZARD:
Wait 5 minutes after removing power before removing dome. Do not connect
wires when circuits are energized.
• To be an effective warning device, this product produces bright light that could be hazardous to eyesight. Do not
stare directly at the light. Rapid flashing could induce photosensitive epilepsy.
• Never alter the unit in any manner. Safety in hazardous locations may be endangered if additional openings or
alternations are made.
•
WARNING - EXPLOSION HAZARD:
Disconnect the fixture from the supply circuit before opening. Keep tightly
closed when in operation. Do not disconnect while circuit is live. Substitution of components may impair suitability
for CIass I, Division 2. Do not install in a hazardous location if the operating temperature. exceeds the atmosphere’s
ignition temperature.
Overview of 224XST, 225XST, 225XST-I, 225XST-N:
Models 225XST and 225XST-N are available in
12-24VDC, 120VAC (50/60 Hz) or 240VAC (50/60 Hz). Models 224XST and 225XST-I are available in 24VDC. These
hazardous location strobe warning lights produce 80 FPM.

Installation
Unpacking the Device:
After unpacking the device, examine it for damage and verify parts. Unit comes with: (1)
assembled unit with flying leads. If a part is missing or damaged do not attempt to install and contact Federal Signal
Customer Support.
WARNING - SHOCK/FIRE HAZARD:
For 4-wire models, all wires must be terminated. Failure to terminate both sets of
wires (black/red) will result in a shock or fire hazard.
