14. Speed Control Knob - works in conjunction
with FNR to set ground speed - This dial is
used to govern the maximum travel speed
of the paver.
The maximum speed for the wheeled paver
is about 150 fpm paving speed (46 mpm)
and about 12 mph travel speed (20 kph).
With the Max Paver Speed dial at zero and
the travel lever/switch forward, the paver
should not move. This can be used to test
the auxiliary systems.
15. Manuever Mode - Enable/Disable. Used
operate the unit in confined spaces or
when extremely tight turning is required.
It is activated using the Maneuver Switch.
The Paver must be stopped (FNR in Neu-
tral) to enable/enter or disable/disengage
Maneuver Mode.
When Maneuver Mode is active, an Icon
on the DP710 Display will be illuminated.
16. Screed Assist Switch - Pavers equipped
with power extending screeds (Stretch 20)
have a Screed Assist system that allows
adjustment of the screed bearing pressure
on the mat. Once turned on, the screed
assist should be left on. Do not switch the
screed assist on and off while the paver is
in motion. The screed assist should only
be turned on when the screed is resting on
the ground and should be turned off prior to
raising the screed.
If the screed is raised when the screed assist
switch is in the ON position the screed could drop
suddenly, seriously damaging the screed.
17. Screed Lock - to disengage (momentary
hold). See “Screed Lift Switch” on page
4-2 for screed R/L procedure.

Screed Vibration - The vibrators switch will
function only when the FNR is forward.
Push up to turn the vibrators on, and push
down to turn the vibrators off.
19. Console Control Button - Operator pres-
ence selection is the method used by the
operator to enable either the right or left
tractor control console by pressing a switch
on the selected console. Each console is
equipped with a selector switch.
NOTE: At machine power up the default
console is the left control console.
20. Right Hand Feed System - Enables/Dis-
ables the RH Feed Control system (dis-
abled at startup). Control of the Feed sys-
tem is disable on the screed unless this is
turned on. It is possible to override the RH
Feed System regardless of whether the
System is turned on or off via Switch #21
(only).
NOTE: Feed System must be disabled be-
fore the starter will crank
21. Right Hand Feed Override - Overrides the
RH Feed system in the forward or reverse
direction.

Left Hand Feed Override - Overrides the
LH Feed system in the forward or reverse
direction.
23. Left Hand Feed System - Enables/Disables
the LH Feed Control system (disabled at
startup). Control of the Feed system is
disable on the screed unless this is turned
on. It is possible to override the LH Feed
System regardless of whether the System
is turned on or off via Switch #22 (only).
NOTE: Feed System must be disabled be-
fore the starter will crank.
24. Warning Horn push button - Push in on the
switch to sound the horn. When the switch
is released, it will return to the off position.
