Setting the Alignment
A part print with clearly defined datums will typically require a coordinate system (or
alignment) to be created before inspecting.

Select the CLEAR PART button. If desired, save the tool.

Ensure you’re in MEASURE mode (select the MEASURE switch).

Identify and measure the datum features first.
•
The top face of the plate is Datum A. (Typically defines the XY plane)
