Wearing heavy leather gloves, pull back on the cable
(Item 1)

, keeping tension on the cable.

Using a hand over hand method, guide the cable onto the
winch drum.

Using the tractor’s auxiliary control, rotate the winch
drum counterclockwise (towards the intake end of the
auger) wrapping the cable around the winch drum

[Figure 121]

.

Continue to wrap the cable onto the winch drum until the
slack has been removed from the cable.

Disengage the tractor hydraulics.

Leave the operator’s position. (See “Entering And
Leaving The Operator’s Position” on page 76.)

Top Tube Support Cable Installation (12122 Model
Only)

Install one eyebolt anchor bar (Item 1) on the first vertical
support (from discharge end) on the upper truss with
cross bracing (Item 2)

[Figure 122]

(both sides).

Install one 5/8”-11 UNC x 3-1/2” bolt (Item 3)

through the eyebolt anchor bar and vertical support.

Install one 5/8” lock nut onto the bolt. Do not tighten at
this time.

Install one 5/8”-11 UNC x 6-1/2” eyebolt (Item 4) into the
eyebolt anchor bar. Install one 5/8” lock nut (Item 5)

Install one 3/8” cable thimble (Item 6)

the eyebolt.

Keep hands a minimum of 3 feet from the winch
while spooling cable.

The person directing the tractor operator must
remain in clear sight of the tractor operator and
cable handler at all times during cable spooling. The
person directing must be able to signal the tractor
operator to shut the tractor down in case of an
emergency.
