TROUBLESHOOTING

NOTE: If a problem is encountered that is difficult to solve, even after having read through this troubleshooting
section, please call your local distributor, dealer or factory. Before you call, please have this Operator And
Parts Manual and the serial number of your machine at hand.
PROBLEM

Excessive auger vibration.
Improper break-in of the auger.
Inspect flighting and / or tube. Replace
flighting and / or tube if damaged.
Running auger empty.
Inspect flighting and / or tube. Replace
flighting and / or tube if damaged.
Bent auger flighting.
Remove the flighting from the tube and
inspect for straightness. Straighten the
flighting and re-install.
Improper PTO speed.
Operate the auger at 540 RPM PTO
speed. Adjust speed as required.
Excessive
shear
bolt
failure.
Starting or stopping the auger at
maximum PTO speed.
Start and stop the auger at reduced
PTO speed (approximately 270 RPM).
Reduced PTO speed when full feeding
the intake hopper.
Increase the PTO speed or reduce feed
rate.
Overloading the intake hopper.
Avoid overloading and force-feeding of
the hopper.
Starting the auger under load.
Empty
auger
completely
before
stopping.
Wet grain.
Reduce the rate of flow into the intake
hopper.
Plugging the auger.
Reduced PTO speed when full feeding
the intake hopper.
Avoid overloading and force-feeding of
the hopper.

Foreign objects in the auger.
Remove foreign objects from flighting
and tube.
Wet grain.
Reduce the rate of flow into the intake
hopper.
Snow or ice in grain.
Reduce the rate of flow into the intake
hopper.

instructions in the manuals when making repairs, adjustments or servicing. Check for correct
function after adjustments, repairs or service. Untrained operators and failure to follow instructions
can cause injury or death.
