Instructional Supplement for
Full-Body Harness with High-Vis Vest
Section 1: Warnings
Before using this product, the user must read,
understand and comply this supplement as well as the
Instructions for Full Body Harnesses also included with
this product. Failure to comply with the instructions,
labels and warnings provided with this product may
result in serious injury or death.
If you have any questions about the safe and proper use
of this product, or any element of your Personal Fall
Arrest System, seek immediate assistance from a
competent person or supervisor
.
Section 2: Use and Limitations
This product is designed to provide a level of enhanced
visibility for workers who are exposed to fall hazards in
environments where vehicular traffic, the operation of
heavy equipment and other activities or conditions may
pose a hazard as well. 7018-series model #’s meet or
exceed the requirements of ANSI/ISEA 107-1999 for Class
II high-visibility.
Based upon your application, other protective clothing or
personal protective equipment may be required – see a
competent person or supervisor for assistance if you have
questions about your equipment.
2.1 – General Use
All FallTech High-Vis Vest Harnesses can be used for fall
arrest and travel restraint. 7018-series model numbers
may also be used for work positioning. See Section 2 and 3 of
the FBH Instructions for details
.
2.2
- Donning and Adjustment
Before donning and adjusting your Vest Harness, inspect the
product in accordance with Section 8 of your FBH
Instructions and ensure that the vest is properly attached and
secured. See figure 1.

Lift the harness by the back D-ring and untangle the
straps, allowing the leg straps to hang free.

Don the vest harness as you would a jacket,
ensuring that the back D-ring is between your
shoulder blades. See figure 2.

Fasten the chest strap buckle.
4.
Fasten both leg straps – they should be adjusted to
be snug, but not tight.
5.
Adjust the chest strap and right and left torso strap
adjusters so that the harness fits snug, but not tight.
6.
Zip up the vest and proceed to your work location.
See figure 3 of this supplement and Section 3.5 of
your FBH Instructions for details.
2.3 - Leg Strap Stash Pouch
If you will not be exposed to any fall hazards, and will not be
tied- off, the leg straps may be unfastened and stashed in the
inner pouch in the back of the vest. See figure 4.
Warning: Never attempt to tie-off with the leg straps
stashed. Always ensure that all straps are fastened and
properly adjusted prior to tying off. Failure to do so may
result in serious injury or death.
2.4 - Lanyard Keeper
7018-series model numbers are equipped with a single lanyard
keeper. See figure 5 for details.
Warning: Never use a hip or side D-ring as a lanyard
keeper (to stow the second leg of a dual-leg lanyard).

- Tying Off
See Section 3 of your FBH Instructions.
Section 3: Inspection, Maintenance and Storage
This product must be thoroughly inspected by the user before
each use. Refer to Section 8 of your FBH Instructions for
critical inspection details and procedures. If this product does
not pass the inspection, immediately remove it from service
and have it replaced.
Failure to do so may result in serious
injury or death.
Your full-body harness (FBH) should maintained and stored in
accordance with Section 9 of your FBH Instructions. The vest
may be hand-washed in a light solution of soap and water and
should be hung and allowed to air dry. Re-attach the vest as
shown in figure 1.
