junior switch. In a redundant pair where this switch is in the backup/junior
role, service is unaffected. A standalone switch does not offer any service
for the duration of the reboot.
After removing the failed control plane (CP), install the new CP, following
the instructions in this guide, Unpacking and Installing the Switch, on page
5-1.
After removing the failed data plane (DP), delete startup-config and
boot-config , and install the new DP, following the instructions in this guide
for Unpacking and Installing the Switch, on page 5-1. You will need to go
through the entire installation process again.
Installing and Removing the Front Bezel
The ARX control plane and data plane are racked separately. The front bezel
and the ear assemblies hold them together.

Use the following procedure to install the front bezel:
1. At each end of the bezel, line up the notches on the bezel with the
guides on the rack handles.
2. Gently push the bezel onto the front of the system until it clicks into
place.
3. Connect any desired cables (Ethernet, optical, and so on) to the front
of the system.
Use the following procedure to remove the optional front bezel:
1. If necessary, remove any cables still attached to the system.
2. Gently, pull the bezel away from the front of the system.
