Attaching the outer rails and mounting brackets
Once you have installed the inner rails to the unit, you can prepare the outer
rails and rail mounting brackets for installation onto the rack. The mounting
brackets are reversible for use in either a fixed three-hole spaced rack or a
two-hole spaced rack. The front brackets are shorter than the rear brackets.
To attach the outer rails and mounting brackets to the rack
1. Slide the outer rails onto the inner rails on the unit.
2. Attach the front mounting brackets to the outer rails, and then slide
the front mounting brackets up to the rail mount locks.
3. Tighten the included Keps nuts on the front brackets, as shown in
Figure 2.5.
4. Attach the rear mounting brackets to the outer rails, and then
hand-tighten the Keps nuts.
5. Remove the outer rails and attached mounting brackets from the
unit.
6. Hold the rails and brackets up to the rack, place the front bracket
either in front of or behind the cabinet rail at the front of the rack,
and secure it to the rack using at least two thumb screws.
7. Adjust the rear bracket until it fits either in front of or behind the
cabinet rail at the back of the rack and secure it to the rack using at
least two thumb screws.
Figure 2.6, on page 2-8, shows an outer rail and mounting brackets
attached to a rack.
Figure 2.5 shows the recommended placement of a front mounting bracket
attached to an outer and inner rail so that unit locks into place properly using
the rail mount locks.
