WARNING
The engine is delivered without oil and fuel.
Τhis is a 4stroke engine meaning gasoline should
be used in fuel tank and the engine case should be
filled with 4stroke engine oil.
Fuel specifications: Unleaded gasoline
Oil specifications: Only use oil that meet the re
quirements of API service class SF or higher. For
general use (5°C 38°C) (Fig. 2) the recommended
oil is SAE 10W30.
Always use clean container for storing fuel and do
not use fuel stored for more than a month.
Use a funnel in order to avoid spilling fuel or oil.
Do not overfill.
To fill the engine with fuel:
1. Remove the fuel tank cap (Fig. 1.7).
WARNING
Carefully open the tank top as pressure could have
formed inside.
2. Add fuel to the fuel upper level (Fig. 4.2). Leave
a minimum 5 mm of space between the top of
the fuel and the inside edge of the tank to allow
for expansion.
3.
Reposition the fuel tank cap and tighten appro
priately.
To fill the engine with oil:
1. Remove the oil filler cap (Fig. 3.1). The bottom
part of it is the oil level indicator (oil dipstick).
2.
Add enough oil to bring the oil level between
the upper (Fig. 3.3) and lower (Fig. 3.4) limit on
the oil dipstick. Measuring should be made with
the dipstick positioned, but not screwed, in the
filler neck.
3.
Reposition the oil cap and tighten appropriate
ly.
WARNING
Wipe off any spilled fuel and oil before starting
the engine.
STARTING THE UNIT
WARNING
Before starting the engine, make sure both the ma
chine and you are on stable ground.
To start the machine:
1. Move the fuel valve lever (Fig. 5.1) to the “ON”
position.
2. Move the choke lever (Fig. 6.1) to the “CHOKE”
position.
NOTE
This step applies only to cold starting of the engine.
When the engine is already warm or the environment
temperature is high, the choke lever should be at
"RUN" position at all times.
3. Move the ON / OFF switch to the “ON” position
(Fig. 7.1).
4. Move the throttle lever (Fig. 8.1) by 1/3 of the
way towards the “A” (high speed) position.
5. Grip firmly the handle of the machine with your
left hand and the starter grip (Fig. 9.2) of the
engine with your right hand. Pull the starter
grip until you feel resistance to engage the en
gine and then pull firmly to start the engine.
WARNING
To avoid breaking the starter rope (Fig. 9.1), do not
pull the whole length of it or let it slide along the
edge of the cable guide hole. Release the starter
gradually, to avoid letting it fly back uncontrollably.
6. As the engine warms up, gradually move the
choke lever to the "RUN" position, if the engine
was cold started.
NOTE
For maximum performance and reliability, allow the
engine to warm up before operating at full load, run
ning it for two to three minutes at idle speed.
OPERATING THE UNIT
The engine speed is controlled by moving the
throttle lever between “A” (high speed) and “B”
(low speed) positions.
WARNING
Strictly set the engine according to the regulated
power on the owner’s manual. Do not overload,
overrun or run the engine with low load and at low
speed.
STOPPING THE UNIT
To stop the machine:
1. Lower the engine speed by moving the throttle
lever to the “B” (low speed) position. Move the
ON / OFF switch to the “OFF” position (Fig. 7.2).
2.
Avoid stopping the engine suddenly at high
speed or under heavy load to avoid engine fail
ure.
3. Move the fuel valve lever to the “OFF” position.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
WARNING
Never do maintenance or cleaning with the unit run
ning. Always work on a cool unit. Before cleaning or
doing maintenance work, disconnect the spark plug
cap and read the relevant instructions. Always wear
proper clothing and protective gloves whenever
your hands are at risk.
Any adjustments or maintenance operations not
described in this manual must be carried out by
your Dealer or a authorized Service Centre with
the necessary knowledge and equipment to en
sure that the work is done correctly maintaining
the machine’s original safety level. Any operations
performed in unauthorized centers or by unqual
ified persons will totally invalidate the Warranty
and all obligations and responsibilities of the
Manufacturer.
Keep all nuts and screws tight to be sure the ma
chine is always in safe working condition. Routine
maintenance is essential for safety and for main
taining a highperformance level.
WARNING
Never use the machine with worn or damaged parts.
Faulty or wornout parts must always be replaced
and not repaired. Only use original spare parts.
