Indirectly from a QC 101 LAN port to the network to which the Quantum processors
are connected (see figure 61). One to eight Quantum processors can be connected
to the QC 101 simultaneously. The QC 101 and all connected processors must be on
the
same subnet

Connecting for RS-232 Control
To send control commands to the Quantum processor via the QC 101 controller, connect
a control device (such as the Extron IPL Pro or IPCP Pro control processors) to the
Remote RS-232 port on the QC 101 rear panel (see
F
, on page 70).
To connect a control system to the QC 101 RS-232 port:
1.
If the provided 3-pole captive screw connector is not already plugged into the RS-232
port on the rear panel, attach it.
2.
Wire an unterminated RS-232 cable to the attached 3-pole captive screw connector
as follows:
a.
Connect the transmit wire to the left pin, which plugs into the Tx (transmit) port.
b.
Connect the receive wire to the middle pin, which plugs into the Rx (receive) port.
c.
Connect the ground wire to the last pin, which plugs into the ground port, marked
with G.
3.
Connect the other end of the RS-232 cable to the serial (Com) port of the control
processor.
