9 Traffic Gen & Mon Test Setup
and Results
The main goal of Traffic Gen & Mon test is to qualify the performance of
Ethernet or IP network. The Traffic Gen & Mon test can be used to confirm
the Service Level Agreements between service providers and the
customers. The Traffic Gen & Mon Test measures simultaneously the
following fundamental criteria:

Available bandwidth (Throughput)

Frame Loss

Transmission Delay (Latency)

Delay Variation (Jitter)

Out-of-Sequence
Note: The TRAFFIC_GEN software option has to be enabled to give access to
Traffic Gen & Mon for the
1- Main stream, and MULTIPLE_STREAM
software option has to be enabled to give access to the stream 2 to 10 .
In addition, the Traffic Gen & Mon test offers statistics on Flow control,
Ethernet frame count, and Ethernet frame size.
The Traffic Gen & Mon test generates up to 10 streams, i.e. 1- Main stream
and streams 2 to 10 . The stream properties are configured independently
for each stream. The 1 - Main stream parameter is coupled with the test
interface, while the streams 2 to 10 have individual configuration.
