Projection clock eFP 3000
intended use
This projection clock is intended to be used to display the time, date, weekday and room tempera-
ture. The weekdays can be displayed in several languages (GB, FR, DE, ES, IT).
In addition, the product has a projection clock, which projects the time and termperature, e.g. on
the ceiling.
Using the integrated DCF receiver, the time of day and the date can be set automatically (within a
radius of approx. 1,500 km around Frankfurt am Main). Of course, it is also possible to make manual
settings. Naturally, the time and the date can be set manually.
Moreover, it features an alarm function with additional SNOOZE function. Background lighting,
which can be activated, completes this product’s range of functions.
The product is only approved for use in dry indoor locations.
It is powered by 3 x 1.5 V Mignon batteries (type: AA) or by using the enclosed wall plug trans-
former.
Any use other than that described above is not permitted and may harm the product and result
in short circuits, fire, etc. The product must not be modified or converted. Always observe the
safety instructions included in these operating instructions. Read the operating instructions care-
fully and keep them for later reference.
exPlanation oF the symbols
The lightening symbol in a triangle is used to alert you to potential risks for personal
injury, such as electric shock.
This symbol, with an exclamation mark in a triangle, indicates particular dangers associ-
ated with handling, function or operation.
The “Hand” symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
saFety instructions

The product must not be exposed to extremes of temperature, humidity, strong vibrations
or heavy mechanical stress.
It is powered by 3 x 1.5 V Mignon batteries (type: AA) or by using the enclosed wall plug
transformer.
After rapid changes in temperature, the product requires some time to adjust to the sur-
rounding temperature. Wait until the product has adjusted to the ambient temperature
before use.
This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!

It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time
or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.
On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the industrial
workers‘ society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
The product is only approved for use in dry indoor locations.
Ensure that there are no sources of magnetism or electromagnetism or heat sources in
the vicinity of the product.
Always unplug the wall plug transformer from the projection clock before cleaning.
Never pull on the cable of the wall plug transformer. Always unplug it from the mains
socket by gripping the plug housing.
Never touch the wall plug transformer with wet or damp hands. There is a risk of a poten-
tially fatal electric shock.
Never replace damaged mains cables yourself. In such case, disconnect the device from
the mains and take it to a specialist workshop.
Do not expose the product to any mechanical stress. Falls from a low height and any pres-
sure applied to the components can damage the device.
Never pour fluids out above electrical devices.

battery saFety inFormation
Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
Observe the correct polarity when inserting the battery (positive /+ and negative/-).
Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by children
or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into contact with the skin. You
should therefore wear suitable protective gloves.
Make sure that the batteries are not short-circuited, taken to pieces or thrown into a fire. There
is a risk of explosion!
Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
If it is not to be used for a while (e.g. storage), remove the batteries. Old batteries may leak and
cause damage to the product, which will lead to the loss of the warranty/guarantee.
For the correct disposal of batteries, please read the chapter “Disposal“.
exPlanation oF the Functions
The radio signal (DCF) for the exact time in Germany is encrypted and sent out by a transmitter in Main-
flingen near Frankfurt. The transmitter has a range of approximately 1,500 km; under ideal ambient
conditions even up to 2,000 km. Clocks that are equipped with a radio receiver can receive and decode
the radio signal within this transmission range. Setting the time manually is not necessary with these
clocks (e.g. changing the time from winter to summer time). The change from winter to summer time
or vice-versa is performed within 24 hours, at the latest. However, the time can also be set manually.
Among other things, the DCF signal includes the precise time (theoretical deviation of 1 second in
a million years!) and the date.
getting started
Open the battery compartment on the rear of the housing and insert 3 x 1.5V Mignon batteries
(Type: AA), paying attention to the correct polarity (observe po and negative/-). All of
the display elements appear briefly in the display and a confirmation sound is emitted.
Close the battery compartment again.
If required, connect the enclosed wall plug transformer to the power supply socket (4.5V/DC).
Plug the wall plug transformer into a standard domestic mains socket 230V/AC 50 Hz.
If the projection clock is used with the wall plug transformer and batteries at the same
time, the voltage will be supplied automatically via the wall plug transformer. Thus, the
projection remains permanently activated.
After connecting the projection clock to the voltage supply, all of the display elements light
up briefly and a short confirmation sound is emitted. The projection clock then searches for
the DCF signal. During the DCF signal search the bars of the DCF reception symbol flash “
“.
Once the DCF signal has been received, the DCF reception symbol is shown continually (please
see the chapter “DCF signal reception“).
When deciding where to use the projection clock, take care to place it, if possible, far from
electric/electronic devices, cables, wall sockets or metal parts. These may have a negative
influence on the reception of the DCF signal.
During summer time, the display shows the letters “DST“. DST means “Daylight Saving Time“ =
Summer time.
The receiving and interpreting the DCF signal can take up to 5 minutes. During this time, do not
move the projection clock. Do not use any buttons.
Bad reception can be due to metallised insulating glass windows, reinforced concrete construc-
tions, coated special wallpapers, heating devices, electric/electronic devices located in the vicinity
of the product or use in basement rooms.
If there still is no updated time/date shown in the display after 10-20 minutes, change the position
of the projection clock and try to start a new manual reception as described above. Should this also
not result in successful reception of the DCF signal, we recommend that you place the projection
clock in front of a window for 24 hours and then check whether a DCF signal has been received.
