DCF reception

Immediately after the batteries are inserted, the device makes the first attempt to receive the DCF signal.

•

The reception icon flashes during the search.

•  The reception icon remains lit when reception is successful. The display shows the current time and the

current date.

•  The reception icon goes out if the search for the DCF signal fails.

It may take a few minutes for the clock to receive a DCF signal. Do not move the clock during

this time. Do not use any buttons.

Poor DCF signal reception should be expected when the clock is near to metal-coated insulated

glass windows, reinforced concrete, coated wallpapers or electronic devices, or when the clock

is placed in a cellar.

If after 5 minutes the current time is not displayed, change the installation site and hold down the

AL 3 - 4 ON/OFF

button for 3 seconds. The clock attempts to receive a time signal again.

The product synchronizes automatically with the DCF time

signal every day at 2 am and 3 am. This is sufficient to keep

the time accurate to within one second per day.
The DCF radio time signal is sent from a transmitter in

Mainflingen (near Frankfurt am Main, Germany). It has a range

of up to 1500 km, increasing to 2000 km in ideal reception

conditions.
The DCF signal contains information such as the exact time

and date (with a theoretical time deviation of one second every

million years).
There is no need to set the summer and winter time manually.
During summer time, the DST indicator appears on the display.

Manually performing the DCF signal reception attempt

You can begin or end a search for the DCF signal manually at any time by pressing and holding the

AL 3 - 4

ON/OFF

 button for 3 seconds.

No other buttons function during the search for the DCF signal.

Each reception attempt takes a maximum of approx. 5 minutes.

Setting the time and date manually

•  In normal display mode, press and hold the

TIME SET

button for approx. 2 seconds until the 24 Hr

indicator flashes.

•  Press the

AL 1 - 2 ON/OFF

 or

AL 3 - 4 ON/OFF

button to change the value. Press and hold the button

to fast forward.

•  Press the

TIME SET

button to confirm. The time zone flashes.

•  Proceed as described above to make the settings in the following order:

12/24h-display →

 time zone

→ hours → minutes → seconds → year → month → day → temperature

unit → language

In 12h mode, the indicator AM appears during the first half of the day. The indicator PM appears

during the second half of the day.

If there is no DCF signal reception, leave the time zone at 0.

If you receive the DCF signal but are located in a different time zone than Germany, you can

correct the time by selecting the appropriate time zone setting.

The seconds will be reset to 00.

The following languages are available for the weekday display:

German  (GER),  English  (ENG),  Dutch  (DUT),  French  (FRE),  Italian  (ITA),  Spanish  (SPA),

Danish (DAN), Russian (RUS)

If no button is pressed for 15 seconds, the product automatically returns to normal display mode.
