Solar Shade
Directly after purchase
1. Do a trial-set up of your tent.
Please set up your tent prior to your first trip to ensure you are familiar with the
setup and the tent is in proper condition.
Assembly
1.
Unroll and unfold the shelter and lay it on the ground with the windows
facing up.
2.
Assemble the shockcorded poles. Try to prevent pole sections from
snapping together, as this can damage the pole ends. Make certain each
insert has seated firmly into each plain end.
3.
Slide the long pole through the sleeve, across the top of the tent. Push the
pole don’t pull it. Continue until you reach the grommet on the other side
of the tent. Insert the post at the end of the pole into this grommet.
4.
Move back to where you started at the opposite side of the shelter. With the
pole in one hand and web/grommet in the other, feed the pole up. Take
care that the ferrules do not get caught on the sleeves. Push the pole evenly
along its length to create an arch. Place the post end of the pole into
grommet to maintain tension across the top of the shelter.
5.
Lift the top of the shelter. Push one of the short poles through a sleeve and
down to a web/grommet at the base. At the top of the shelter, insert the post
into the grommet. Repeat with the second pole into the last sleeve.
6.
Move to the base of the shelter. With a pole in one hand and
web/grommet in the other, push the pole evenly along it’s length to
create an arc. Place the post into the grommet to maintain tension
across the fabric. Repeat with the second pole.
7.
Your shelter is now freestanding. Move it to the desired location
and secure. Since soil conditions vary greatly, we have included
two methods to secure the shelter:
1.
On sand. Fill the four bags with sand and tie them to the
four corner webs. Pull the bags out and away from the
shelter until the floor is taut. Bury the bags in the sand.
2.
On Turf. Drive a stake through the grommet on a corner
web . Work your way around the shelter squaring and
staking the base as you go.
Tent care
We strongly advise you to read the
Eureka! Tent Care Leaflet
(included in
the peg bag) before first use!!
•
Floor protection
: We recommend the use of a thin groundsheet or floor
saver with any tent for added protection from abrasion. The floor saver
should be about 10cm. (4 inches) from the tent edge to avoid the
possibility of channelling water beneath the tent.
•
Damaging substances
: Fuels can damage tents as can DEET found in
many insect repellents.
•
Exposure to sun
: The sun’s UV rays can be harmful even with technical
advances in fabrics. Prolonged exposure could result in fading and
possibly fabric disintegration. Do not leave a tent up longer than
necessary.
•
Cleaning
: Clean tent fabric, poles and zippers with lukewarm, clean
water after every use. Never use detergents, washing machines or
dryers (also see warranty leaflet).
•
Tent storage:
It is important that you store the tent in a dry and cool
condition. If you put the tent away in the carry bag while it is wet, even
for a short time, it may become affected by mildew, which can damage
the coating.
•
Seams
: All major seams are factory taped. Over time seams could
experience delamination. Simply clean the seam and apply seam sealer
that can be purchased at most outdoor stores.
