Operating Instructions
CONNECTION
- Pairing the BlueTherm
®
Probe via
Bluetooth
- ensure suitable software has been installed on the display
device being used to monitor the probe. The BlueTherm Probe
will communicate with either ThermaData Studio on a PC or
Laptop, BlueTherm or HACCP mobile for Android or iOS
Devices. Switch unit on and use the settings section of your
device software to pair the BlueTherm Probe.
For iDevices
i.e. iPhone/iPod go to settings/Bluetooth and select the serial
number of your probe from the list. If a password is requested
to complete the pairing operation use 1234. Not all devices
require a password.
AUTO-RECONNECTION TO iOS DEVICES - (For BlueTherm
Probe firmware R1.5.0 and above)
- When connected the
firmware revision number can be found through the BlueTherm
App. When pairing to an iOS device (entering PIN) the
BlueTherm Probe stores the iOS device’s address. If connection
is lost or broken the BlueTherm Probe will try to reconnect every
30 seconds. Whilst the BlueTherm Probe is trying to reconnect
extra battery power is used so it is recommended to switch
off the BlueTherm unit when not being used. To clear
the stored iOS Device’s address - carry out a reset whilst
holding down the BlueTherm Probe’s TRANSFER button -
one 'red' flash followed by five 'blue' flashes shows success.
Please note:
auto-reconnection to Android, PC or Laptops is
handled by the host software or App.
INSTRUMENT OPERATION
- Turn the probe on by pressing the
button on the front label. Apply the tip of the probe to the
substance, medium or surface to be measured. The reading
may take several seconds to stabilise, depending on the nature
of the measurement.
BUTTON FUNCTIONS
- Transfer/On-Off button - this button
has three functions. If the probe is 'off' pressing this will turn
the probe 'on' and the LED will flash red. When the probe is
'on' pressing this will send a reading to the attached device and
the LED will flash blue. Pressing and holding for three seconds
will turn the probe 'off' and the LED will flash blue and then red.
OPEN CIRCUIT/FAULTY PROBE
- If the probe has developed an
'open circuit' fault the device software will display 'Err'.
SENSORS
- The BlueTherm Probe is a fixed type K thermocouple.
BATTERY STATUS
- This is indicated in the device software. The
display device requests a battery level from the probe.
Please note:
the battery is factory fitted and is not user
replaceable. Please return to ETI Ltd for replacement.
CHARGING

guaranteed whilst charging.
BlueTherm probes can be charged from a PC, laptop, mains
adaptor USB charger or USB car charger. The probe can be
charged whilst switched on or off. A red LED will be displayed
when the probe is charging. If the red LED flashes during
charging then an error has occurred - see help file.
Gently pull the flap on the bung at the end of the handle to gain
access to the Mini USB socket. Charging will automatically finish
when the battery is full, which should take less than two hours.
RESET
- If the unit fails to communicate the battery may be
flat. Recharge and if communication still fails perform a
hardware reset.
A reset switch is located under the bung at the end of the
handle. Gently pull the flap on the bung to gain access to the
switch. Press a blunt object such as a ball-point pen into the
dimple on the right of the charging socket and release. A red
LED will show on the button label.

Probe via Bluetooth permet
de garantir que le logiciel adapté a été installé sur le périphérique
d’affichage utilisé pour contrôler la sonde. La BlueTherm Probe
communique soit avec ThermaData Studio sur un PC ou un ordinateur
portable, soit avec BlueTherm ou HACCP mobile pour les appareils
Android ou iOS. Allumez l’appareil et utilisez la section de paramétrage
de votre logiciel pour associer la BlueTherm Probe. Pour les iAppareils
tels qu’un iPhone/iPod, rendez-vous dans Paramètres/Bluetooth et
sélectionnez le numéro de série de votre sonde dans la liste. Si un
mot de passe vous est demandé pour réaliser l’association, utilisez
le code 1234. Tous les appareils ne requièrent pas un mot de passe.
RECONNEXION AUTOMATIQUE AUX APPAREILS iOS - (Pour le
micrologiciel BlueTherm Probe R1.5.0 et versions supérieures)
- Lorsqu’il est connecté, le numéro de révision du micrologiciel est
indiqué dans l’application BlueTherm. Lors de l’association d’un
appareil iOS (en saisissant un code PIN), la BlueTherm Probe
enregistre l’adresse de l’appareil. En cas de perte ou d’interruption
de la connexion la BlueTherm Probe essaiera de se reconnecter toutes
les 30 secondes. Les tentatives de reconnexion de la BlueTherm
Probe consomment davantage d’énergie de la batterie, il est donc
recommandé d'éteindre l’appareil lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé. Pour effacer
l’adresse de l’appareil iOS enregistrée, procédez à une réinitialisation
tout en appuyant sur le bouton TRANSFER de la BlueTherm Probe ;
un flash 'rouge' suivi de cinq flashes 'bleus' indiquent la réussite de
l’opération.
À noter:
la reconnexion automatique à Android, un PC ou
un ordinateur portable est gérée par le logiciel hôte ou l’application.
UTILISATION DE L'INSTRUMENT
- Allumez la sonde en appuyant sur
le bouton situé sur l’étiquette avant. Placez la pointe de la sonde sur
la substance, la surface ou le milieu à mesurer. La stabilisation du
relevé peut prendre quelques secondes selon la nature de la mesure.
FONCTIONS DES BOUTONS
- Bouton Transfer/On-Off - Ce bouton a
trois fonctions. Si la sonde est éteinte, appuyer sur ce bouton permet
d’allumer la sonde et la DÉL clignote en rouge. Si la sonde est allumée,
appuyer sur ce bouton permet d’envoyer un relevé à l’appareil associé
et la DÉL clignote en bleu. Maintenir ce bouton enfoncé pendant trois
secondes permet d’éteindre la sonde, la DÉL émet alors un flash bleu,
puis un rouge.
CIRCUIT OUVERT/SONDE DÉFECTUEUSE
- Si un défaut de 'circuit
ouvert' apparaît sur l’appareil, le logiciel de l’appareil affiche le
message 'Err'.
CAPTEURS
- La BlueTherm Probe est un thermocouple fixe de type K.
STATUT DE LA BATTERIE
- Il est indiqué sur le logiciel de l’appareil.
L’appareil d’affichage demande un niveau de batterie à la sonde.
À noter:
la batterie est montée en usine et ne peut pas être remplacée
par l’utilisateur. Veuillez retourner l’appareil à ETI Ltd pour remplacer
la batterie.
CHARGEMENT

À noter:
la précision des mesures n’est pas garantie
en cours de chargement. Les sondes BlueTherm peuvent être chargées
depuis un PC, un ordinateur portable, un chargeur USB sur secteur
ou un chargeur USB allume-cigares. La sonde peut être chargée
aussi bien quand elle est éteinte que quand elle est allumée. La DÉL
s’allume en rouge pendant le chargement de la sonde. Si la DÉL
rouge clignote pendant le chargement, cela indique qu’une erreur
s’est produite, voir le fichier d’aide. Tirez doucement sur le rabat du
capot situé à l’extrémité de la poignée pour accéder au port Mini USB.
Le chargement s’arrêtera automatiquement lorsque la batterie sera
complètement chargée, ce qui devrait prendre moins de deux heures.
RÉINITIALISATION
- En cas d’échec de la communication, il est possible
que la batterie soit vide. Rechargez-la et, si la communication ne
fonctionne toujours pas, procédez à une réinitialisation du matériel.
Un interrupteur de réinitialisation se trouve sous le capot situé à
l’extrémité de la poignée. Tirez doucement sur le rabat situé sur le
capot pour accéder à l’interrupteur. Utilisez un objet non tranchant
comme un stylo à bille pour appuyer dans le creux qui se trouve à
droite du port de chargement, puis relâchez. Une DÉL rouge s’allume
sur le bouton de l’étiquette.
