Loopback Test
The loopback test is a non-intrusive test which uses OAM packets. This test will not
affect normal transmission.
Send Packet Number
(1~255): This number represents the amount of OAM frames that
will be sent for loopback testing. Enter the number of packets to be sent. Default is 1.
Packet Length
(Not include CRC)
(60~1514): Enter a value in this field to set the
packet size of
the OAM frames used for loop back testing, in addition to the standard 4
bytes used by Ethernet CRC (cyclic redundancy check). A Layer 2 Ethernet packet
ranges in size from 64 - 1518 bytes. A VLAN tag adds another 4 bytes and 802.1Q
tunneling (Q in Q) can add another 4 bytes, bringing the maximum total packet size to
1526 bytes. Frames with a size larger than this are jumbo frames.
NOTE
: The loopback test must be performed from the media converter in “active” mode.
The test result will always be “Fail” if performed from the media converter in passive
mode.
