Introduction
This section contains information about the basic features and applications of
the ETK-V1.1 (ETK = Emulator Test Probe), hints to system requirements, and
other details.
3.1
Applications
The ETK-V1.1 is an emulator probe especially for the Freescale MPC55xx/
MPC56xx microcontroller family, e.g. MPC5534, MPC5553, MPC5554 and
MPC5674F as well as the ST SPC56x family. It is a typical parallel ETK with a 16
bit interface based on the modular Vertical interface concept from Freescale and
ETAS.

It is compatible with the ETAS calibration and development system interface (e.g.
ES590, ES591, ES592, ES595, ES910 and ES1000.2/ES1000.3 with ES1232-A).
Earlier systems (e.g. MAC2, ES1000.1 with ES1201 board) are not supported.
3.2
Features
• Applicable for an external Freescale 16-bit microcontroller bus
• Supports 16- and 8-bit access to the data emulation memory
• CPU bus interface voltage 2.5 V/ 3.3 V/ auto sense option
• Two pages of data emulation/measurement data memory available, each
with 1 MByte
• Permanent storage of emulation data in flash memory
• RAM adaptor mode
• Can drive "Boot configuration" to configure the CPU
• ECU flashing via ETK
• Configurable ETK chip select
• Enable or disable the ETK by ECU software
• Braindead flashing under ProF control
Note
The ETK-V1.1 can be shipped in two different mechanical versions (refer to
chapter 7.12 on page 47 and to chapter 9.1 on page 56).
