3.1.3 Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Cleaning the Water Tank (every two weeks)
The water tank should be cleaned every two weeks to ensure that no bacteria accumulate in the water.
To clean the tank, it must be drained and manually cleaned with a solution of 20 milliliters benzalkonium
chloride and 15 liters water.
After cleaning the tank, use 2-3 liters of cleaning solution to clean the entire water circuit. To do this, put 2-
3 liters into the water tank and turn on the chamber. This will allow the solution to pump through the
chamber. After all the solution has been pumped out of the tank, fill the tank with water and turn the
chamber on again. This will flush out any remaining solution. When the tank is empty, trun off the chamber
and refill the water tank as detailed previously.
Procedure:
Draining the Water Tank
1.
Unplug 115VAC supply power from water pump system.
2.
Disconnect water system supply 3/8” hose using quick disconnect installed in hose.
3.
If the water tank system is recirculating type, disconnect the water tank return/drain hose from the hose
barb mounted near the top of the water tank.
4.
Unlock water tank base casters to allow movement of system.
5.
Roll the water tank system over to the water tank draining area. Remember to bring along the 8-foot
piece of 3/8” hose (with male quick disconnect attached) that shipped with the chamber.
6.
Connect the “tank draining” 8-foot piece of hose still connected to the water tank pump.
7.
Place discharge end of hose in drain reservoir or tank.
8.
Plug in water pump supply power cord to 115VAC source.
9.
Allow pump to run until water tank is virtually empty.
10.
If there is still any water left in the tank after running the system as dry as possible, a wet/dry vacuum
may be used to remove the remaining water in the tank. (Sponges or rags may be used to soak up the
water also.)
