Connecting with amplifiers

 Precautions when making connections

 

o

After completing all other connections, plug the power plug into a power outlet.

 

o

Read the owner’s manuals of all devices that will be connected, and follow their instructions.

The polarity of the XLR connec-
tors can be set so that either 2 or 
3 is HOT (page 26).

When connected to an amplifier 
capable of volume adjustment, 
set the analog audio output 
level setting (L_VOL>) of the unit 
to FIX, and use the amplifier to 
adjust the volume (page 29).

A 

Analog audio output (LINE OUT) connectors

These output 2-channel analog audio. Connect the XLR or RCA 
connectors to an amplifier.

Use commercially-available cables for connections.

ESL-A/XLR, ESL-A PRE OUT: XLR cables
RCA: RCA cables

Connect an R connector on this unit to an R connector on the 
amplifier, and connect the corresponding unit L connector to 
the corresponding amp L connector.

Change the analog audio output connector setting 
(page  26) and analog audio output level setting 
(page 29) according to the connectors being used.

The analog audio output connector setting can be set to XLR 
(polarity HOT for pin 2 or 3), RCA or ESLA (page 26).

 

o

When connecting this unit with an amplifier that has ES-LINK 
Analog (ESL-A) connectors, we recommend connecting 
the analog audio output (ESL-A) connectors on this unit 
to the ES-LINK Analog (ESL-A) connectors on the amplifier 
(page 9).

ATTENTION

The ESL-A PRE OUT output connectors of this unit are female-type 
connectors to prevent accidental connection with XLR output 
connectors.
