Description and use of shielding collars
The shielding collars are cylinders in conductive fabric, fitted on one side
with a system for connection to the gantry and on the other with a system
for closure on the limb examined.

Electrical contact between the collar and gantry is ensured by contact
between the internal conductive part of the collar and the special metal
frame fixed to the gantry. Electrical contact between the collar and limb
examined is ensured by contact between the internal conductive part of
the collar and patient's skin.
The front and rear shielding collars must be fixed to the gantry and
opened to the maximum limit, to avoid any type of interference with
insertion of the limb. Always leave the collars fitted on the gantry.
The side of the shielding collar fixed to the gantry is equipped with an
elastic band that enables application of the collar on the relative frame.
Two texts are silk-screen printed on the exterior of the shielding collar:
“LOWER SIDE” and “UPPER SIDE”, indicating the relative sides for
application on the frame. When fitting the shielding collar, always start
with the lower side of the frame, followed by the sides and then the upper
side.
