Bridging

dynamically learned (even if it is on a different port) or statically entered by
the user (whatever the forward/discard policy for this address).

For multicast or broadcast packets, the filtering is performed according to
the subscriber policy assigned to the bridge. However, if flooding is
enabled, such packets are forwarded only toward the destination virtual
port (when, without force forwarding mode, they would have been
forwarded to any port for a transparent bridge or to any port in the same
VLAN for a VLAN-aware bridge) if force forward mode.

Description

This command is used to add/remove a virtual port to/from a

group of virtual ports. Two virtual ports in the same group cannot
communicate with each other.

For instance, if two customers use PVCs corresponding to virtual ports that
are in the same group, they cannot communicate directly with each other
even if they know their MAC addresses. If one customer tries to send
packets directly to the MAC address of the other customer, the packets will
be dropped by the bridge. This behavior is applicable for any virtual ports
as long as they are in the same group.

The group number in the range from 1 to 4095. 0
means no group, that is the virtual port can
communicate with any other virtual port.
