Troubleshooting
❏
If the paper is wrinkled when it comes out, it may be damp
or too thin. Load a new stack.
Note:
Store any unused paper in its original packaging in a dry area. See
“Paper” on page A-1 for specifications.
Paper does not feed correctly when using roll
paper
If roll paper does not feed correctly, try the following:
❏
Make sure the end of the roll is cut perpendicularly to the
edges. If it is cut on a diagonal, the paper may not feed
smoothly. Always use a triangle or other tool to ensure that
the end of the roll is cut perpendicularly.
❏
Make sure the paper is not curled. If the paper is curled, the
paper may not feed smoothly. Flatten it before loading to
avoid paper-feeding problems. To uncurl the paper, roll the
paper inside the protective film packaged with the printer in
the direction opposite to the paper’s curl. It is enough to flatten
the paper by 100 mm. It is not necessary to uncurl the whole
roll.
❏
Be sure to hold the paper in place with your hand when
feeding it into the printer. To load the paper correctly, you
must hold the paper in place with your hand while you press
the
z
roll paper button.
❏
Make sure the paper support is removed and the output tray
extension is closed. When using roll paper, you must remove
the paper support and shorten the output tray extension (the
second and third trays should be closed).
❏
Confirm that Roll Paper is selected as the Paper Source setting
in the printer software. If Roll Paper is not selected, paper will
feed unnecessarily after each print job.
