Part/Unit that should be removed before removing Print Head.

Document Cover / Panel Unit / Panel Housing / Scanner Unit / Housing Upper /
Main Board Unit / Housing Middle

Removal procedure

Remove all Ink Cartridges from Carriage Unit.

Pinch the dowel of EJ Roller’s gear, turn it clockwise and release Carriage
Lock.

Slide Carriage Unit to the center of the printer.

Loosen the screws (x2,

) for securing CR Motor, and then remove Timing

Belt from pinion gear of CR Motor and Driven Pulley.

Release Head FFC form the fixing points of Carriage Unit and disconnect
Head FFC from connector of CSIC Board on Carriage Unit.

Release the hook (x2,

), fixing between Print Head and Carriage Cover, on

the both sides of Carriage Unit, and then pull the unit forward and remove the
cover.

Lift Print Head up and remove it.
