Graphics require large amounts of memory, so you may need to
increase your printer’s memory. See “Memory Modules” on page
3-41 for information on adding memory modules.
SelecType does not function as expected
Settings made in the printer driver override SelecType settings.
Use your printer drive to make settings whenever possible. See
“When to use SelecType” on page 5-2 for more information.
Your settings may have been changed by your software program.
Perform a factory reset (initialize) with the
SelecType Init
function on the SelecType Setup Menu. For more information, see
Chapter 5, “SelecType Settings”.
You may not have reset the printer after making settings. Press
the
ALT
and
Continue
buttons at the same time to reset the printer
and enable the new settings.
Solving print quality problems
If one of the following problems has occurred in your printout,
try the solutions listed for the problem.
Dark or dirty background
Darken the
Density
setting on the printer driver’s Panel menu.
(You can also change this setting from the printer’s control panel
using SelecType. For details, see Chapter 5, “SelecType Settings”.)
Clean the paper path inside the printer with a clean, soft, and lint-
free cloth.
Clean internal printer components by printing several pages with
only one character per page.
