Initialization

There are four ways that the printer can be initialized (returned to

a fixed set of conditions) as shown in the table below.

Hardware initialization

When you turn on the power

When you execute the FACTORY

RESET option in SelecType Level

Software initialization

When software sends the printer-

initialize command

When you press the RESET

button on the printer

All initialization except FACTORY RESET have identical results.

The FACTORY RESET option produces a different set of

parameters.

The default conditions differ according to the printer mode. See

the Appendixes for information

the default settings for each

printer mode.
