Operational problems

The printer is making abnormal noise

Cause

What to do

Abnormal noise may come
from the printer
momentarily immediately
after a new imaging
cartridge is loaded. This
does not indicate
malfunction.

Remove the imaging cartridge from
the printer, gently rock it back and
forth two or three times, then reload
it into the printer.

The

Ready

light (green) does not turn on when you turn the

printer on

Cause

What to do

The printer may not be
connected to the electrical
outlet.

Turn off the printer and check the
power cord connection between the
printer and the electrical outlet. Then
turn the printer back on.

If the electrical outlet is controlled by
an outside source such as a wall
switch, make sure that the switch is
turned on. Try plugging another
electrical device into the outlet to
check whether the outlet is operating
properly.
