Preventing theft (Password Protect)
The projector is provided with a Password Protect function. When
Password Protect is set to "ON", a password entry screen is displayed when
the power is next turned on after the power plug has been disconnected
from the electrical outlet, and you must enter a password before projection
can start. This means that the projector cannot be taken away and used by
someone else, thereby providing a defence against theft.
The default setting is for Password Protect to be "OFF". You should change
the Password Protect setting to "ON" and set a password as soon as
possible after starting to use the projector.
When Password Protect is enabled
When Password Protect is enabled (ON), a screen requesting you to enter a
password will be displayed when the power cable is connected to an
electrical outlet and the power for the projector is first turned on.
Use the numeric buttons on the remote control to set the password.
If the correct password is entered, projection will then start.
If you leave the power plug connected to the electrical outlet, the screen
requesting a password to be entered will not be displayed the next time the
projector's power is turned on and projection can start straight away. The
password entry screen will only be displayed the first time the projector's
power is turned on after the power plug has been inserted into an electrical
outlet.
Password
Enter the password.

TIP
• If an incorrect password is entered three times in succession, the
message "The projector's operation will be locked." will be displayed
for approximately five minutes, and then the projector will switch to
standby mode. If this happens, disconnect the power plug from the
electrical outlet and then reinsert it and turn the projector's power
back on. The screen requesting you to enter the password will be
displayed, so enter the password correctly.
If you happen to forget the password, make a note of the request
code: xxxx number that appears in the Password Protect Release
screen and contact the nearest address provided in the
"International Warranty Conditions" section of the Safety
Instructions/World-Wide Warranty Terms booklet.
• If the above operation should happen to be repeated nine times
without a correct password being entered, the following message will
be displayed and the projector's power will not be able to be turned
on.
"The projector's operation will be locked. Contact the nearest
address provided in the "International Warranty Conditions" section
of the Safety Instructions/World Wide Warranty Terms booklet."
