3. If the outer case is dirty or dusty, clean it with a soft, clean
cloth dampened with mild detergent dissolved in water.
Keep all of the covers closed to prevent water from getting
inside the printer.
Caution:
Never use alcohols or thinners to clean the printer. These
chemicals can damage the printer components as well as
the case.
Be careful not to get water on the printer mechanism or
electronic components.
Do
not
use a hard or abrasive brush.
Do not spray the inside of the printer with lubricants.
Unsuitable oils can damage the mechanism. Contact your
Epson dealer
if
you think lubrication is needed.
Replacing the ribbon cartridge
When your printing becomes too faint, you need to replace the
ribbon. Use the #8766 Epson replacement cartridge only.
Warning:
If the printer has been used recently, the print head may be hot.
Let if cool before attempting to replace the ribbon.
1. Press the PAUSE button. Then turn off the printer.
2. Open the printer’s top cover and slide the print head to the
exposed part of the paper bail.
