Disassembly and Assembly

After attaching the packing materials, pack the printer in its container as shown
in Figure 3-2. If you do not pack the printer properly, it may be damaged during
transportation.

Before disassembling the printer, turn it off and disconnect the power cord
from the printer and the wall outlet. Disconnect the printer from the
computer, and then remove the paper and ribbon cartridge.

Because you may need to turn the printer while you disassemble or assemble
it, place it on a clean, thick cloth, such as a towel or blanket, before starting.

Before assembling the printer, lubricate it as described in Chapter 6,

 and Lubrication. 

(A substantial amount 

 may be removed

during maintenance or repair work.) Also, be sure to clean the printer as
described in Chapter 6.
