5.2.10 Fan Check

The cooling fan in the EPSON Stylus COLOR 900/900N does not run all
the time. However, if the Ink Out error occurs frequently, this may be a
sign that the printer is overheating because the cooling fan is not
working. (See

“Cooling Fan Driver Circuit”

Follow these steps to check the cooling fan:

1. Perform the actions described in

“Starting the Adjustment

on page 122. You see the main menu:

2. Select Maintenance.

You see the maintenance menu:

3. Select Fan Check. The following screen appears and the fan should

start to rotate.

4. If the fan rotates properly, select Yes to make the fan stop rotating.

Then press Esc repeatedly to return to the main menu or exit the
