7.3 Replace the drill steel

bushings

The bushings must be replaced if they show signs of

wear.

1. Remove the Drill steel Gaiter by hand.

2. Use the Epiroc wear gauge to remove the outer

bushing (A). Insert the wear gauge teeth end aligned

with the bushings corners. Push it in half way. Slightly

twist the tool so it grabs the flat area behind the outer

bushing were it will get best grip. Use a screw driver

as a handle and pull the bushing out.

3. Insert the wear gauge in one of the bushings corners

and push it in against the anvil so the hook grabs at

the inner edge of the bushing. Slightly twist the tool

so it grabs the flat area were it will get best grip. Use

a screw driver as a handle and pull the inner bushing

and seal out.

4. Replace the worn components. The seal must always

be replaced.

5. Start by inserting and positioning the inner bushing

(C) completely. When the inner bushing is correctly

seated continue to position the seal and outer bush-
