Introduction
This filter is designed for use on refrigerators with automatic ice cube makers and/or drinking water outlets (i.e. single drinking
water faucets, before hot water dispensers, etc.) The quick connect fittings included with this filter are suitable for use with 1/4"
O.D. (outside diameter) copper or plastic tubing. Tools required: tubing cutter (if tubing is copper), sharp knife (if tubing is
plastic). Use on cold water supply only.
Maximum Temperature:
100ºF / 38ºC
Maximum Pressure:
100 psi / 6.9 bar
Rated Service Flow
: 0.5 gpm / 1.9 lpm
Filter Life (Approximate):
6-12 months or 1,000 US gallons
/ 3,785 litres. Filter life is directly related to your water
conditions and volume of water filtered. Change filter sooner
if unpleasant tastes/odours return.
Caution:
Do not use on water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality. For effective whole house water disinfection
install a Rainfresh Ultraviolet Water Disinfection System.
Installation Procedure:
System and installation shall comply with state and local regulations.
1. Shut off water supply to ice cube maker / water dispenser.
2. Select convenient location on water supply tubing line that is easily accessible. Make sure that tubing is smooth and round
without any scratches or nicks.
3. Cut tubing cleanly and squarely at this location. Note: Copper tubing must be deburred after cutting to prevent damage to
the o-ring seal of the quick connect fittings. If not deburred properly, filter will leak.
4. Remove white shipping protection tubes (if any) while holding in blue quick connect fittings on both ends of filter.
5. Connect inlet end of filter to tubing from water source. Note: Flow of water must be in same direction as directional arrow on
filter. Push scratch-free tubing into quick connect fitting until it bottoms. The inlet tubing is now connected and sealed. Do
not connect outlet tube yet.
6. Hold filter over a bucket and flush for ten minutes before beginning service.
7. Shut off water supply again and connect outlet end of filter using same procedure as in 5.
8. Turn on water supply. Check for leaks.
Your filter is now in operation.
Filter Replacement
To remove tubing from old filter unit before replacing filter, push in on blue quick connect fittings with your fingers while pulling
out on the tubing. The tubing will be released. Install new filter as per instructions, 5 through 9 above.
