install multiple SECO -LARM se nso rs
B.
Plug the senso r into the alarm brain's 4 -pin
co nnecto r.
C . Set the sensitivity:
(1 ) Turn the pre -intrusio n (1 st stag e)
sensitivity to maximum (clo ckwise).
(2 ) Test the trig g er (2 nd stag e) sensitivity by
rapping hard o n the vehicle to simulate
an attack. (Do no t hit the windo w.)
Adjust the sensitivity by turning the
trig g er adjustment po d clo ckwise (mo re
sensitive) o r co unterclo ckwise (less
sensitive).
(3 ) O nce trig g er sensitivity is set, test pre -
intrusio n (1 st stag e) sensitivity by lig htly
kno cking o n the vehicle to simulate
so meo ne bumping the car. Adjust the
sensitivity by turning the po d clo ckwise
(mo re sensitive) o r co unter- clo ckwise
(less sensitive).
(4 ) NO TE:
a .
C hang ing trig g er sensitivity also
affects pre -intrusio n sensitivity.
b.
When trig g er sensitivity is set to
minimum, the sho ck senso r canno t
trig g er the alarm (equivalent to
turning the sho ck senso r O FF).
Pre -intrusio n is also turned O FF.
c.
When sensitivity is set to maximum,
the sho ck senso r is very sensitive.
This may cause unnecessary chirps
and/ o r false alarms.
d.
To prevent false alarms, the sho ck
senso r and auxiliary senso rs will no t
trig g er the alarm until 4 o r 6 0
seco nds (depending o n the remo te
used)after the alarm is armed and
no further mo tio n is detected ( see
senso r delay times o n pag e 1 9 ).
NOTE
— To co nnect mo re than o ne
SEC O -LARM dual- stag e sho ck, micro wave, o r
g lass break senso r, use an SR-1 9 9 -3 1 5
Y- co nnecto r. (See fig. 2 4 .)
NOTE
— To install no n- SEC O -LARM auxiliary
senso rs — Splice into the sho ck senso r's wire
harness as sho wn in fig. 2 5 . Fo r sing le - stag e
auxiliary senso rs, do no t use the YELLO W WIRE.
IMPORTANT
— These fo ur wires are transisto r
+ 1 2 VDC o r transisto r g ro und inputs and
o utputs with max. rating s o f 2 0 0 mA. Take care
when co nnecting accesso ries to these wires.
Connector 7 (2-pin RED connector)
PLUG-IN LED, fig. 26
A. Determine where to mo unt the LED. The
LED sho uld be easily seen by po tential
thieves and vandals. Ho wever, do NO T
mo unt where the LED is easily expo sed to
sunlig ht. Discuss the LED lo catio n with the
custo mer befo re starting.
B.
Drill a 1 / 4 " ho le in the LED lo catio n.
C . Run the LED co nnecto r thro ug h the ho le,
and then plug into the alarm brain’ s 2 -pin
RED co nnecto r.
