8.3.8

Field device power

The life of the battery unit can be extended by aligning the power supply of the WirelessHART
Adapter with the energy requirements of the connected device. Knowledge of the energy
requirements makes it possible to more reliably predict the battery service life. The power supply
parameters for the field device must be taken from the field device operating manual. For some
Hauser field devices the optimum power supply parameters are provided in a database
supplied with the DTM.

Note!

To minimize power consumption, we recommend HART communication between the field device
and WirelessHART Adapter with a fixed analog current value (multidrop mode).
