Maintenance

The Promass 83 flow measuring system requires no special maintenance.

Exterior cleaning

When cleaning the exterior of measuring devices, always use cleaning agents that do not attack the
surface of the housing and the seals.

Cleaning with pigs (Promass H, I)

If pigs are used for cleaning, it is essential to take the inside diameters of measuring tube and process
connection into account. See also Technical Information.

Replacing seals

Under normal circumstances, fluid wetted seals of the Promass A and Promass M sensors do not
require replacement. Replacement is necessary only in special circumstances, for example if aggres-
sive or corrosive fluids are incompatible with the seal material.

Note!
• The period between changes depends on the fluid properties and on the frequency of cleaning

cycles in the case of CIP/SIP cleaning.
