Updating the firmware

The firmware must be updated using the "Nanomass Communication" operating tool

(digitally via a USB or RS232 interface).

Navigation

Function area "Device settings"

→

"Service mode"

To access the "Device settings" function area, you must enter the access code

0074

in the

"Access code for technician mode" field and then press "OK" to confirm.

Updating the firmware

Damage to firmware

If the power supply is disconnected during the update process, this can damage the

firmware.

‣

Do not switch off the power supply while upgrading the firmware.

The measuring device cannot be used during the update process.

1. Call up the "Device settings" function area.
2. In the "Service mode" section, click the "Activate" button.



The "Access code for expert mode" window appears.

3. Enter the code

4685

for the service mode and click "OK" to confirm.



The functions of the service mode are displayed.

4. Click the "Perform update" button to update the firmware of the measuring device.



A selection field is displayed.

5. Click the Folder icon to select the file on the computer that contains the update and click

"OK" to confirm.



The name of the selected file is displayed in the "Select HEX-File" field.

6. Click "Start" to run the update.



A message is displayed.

7. Click "Continue" to continue the update process.



The update is installed. The device is restarted and the "Nanomass Communication"

operating tool is shut down as soon as the firmware has been updated.



If the update process was successful, the message "Firmware update successful" is

displayed. If the update process was not successful, the message "Firmware update

failed". Please try again." is displayed.

8. Restart "Nanomass Communication" operating tool, to make the changes effective.
