Routine Maintenance – Operator Checklist
Copy this page, complete the checklist and insert it into the instrument logbook.
Check Component Action Frequency
Torch Check for verification and surface coating
of sample or carbon. Clean if required.
Weekly or as required depending
on sample matrix
Transfer tubing Check for coating or deposits on the
internal surfaces, and clean if required.
Every three months or as required

Sample and skimmer

Clean using stainless steel cleaning
powder then in an ultrasonic bath with a
caustic detergent followed by de-ionized
water.

Extraction lens #1 and #2 Clean using stainless steel cleaning
powder then in an ultrasonic bath,
followed by de-ionized water.

Rotary pump Check the oil level and color and change
oil as needed.

Inspect water level in cooler. Add
additional water if necessary.

Spray chamber Check for coating or deposits on the
internal surfaces, and clean if required.
