6.7 PnP/PCI Configurations

This section describes the configuration of the PCI
bus system.

PCI (Personal Computer Interconnect) is a bus that allows

I/O devices to operate at high speed.

This section covers some very technical items and it is

strongly recommended that only experienced users should

make any changes to the default settings.

Init Display First

The user can choose which device is initialized first as the

primary device, an external PCI–graphics card or the

[Onboard] graphics controller.

Default setting is [PCI Slot].

Resources Controlled By

The Award Plug and Play BIOS has the ability to configure

all plug and play compatible devices automatically. If you

set this option to [Manual], choose specific resources by

following submenus (a sub menu is preceded by an “x”).

Two options are available: [Auto (ESCD)] and [Manual].

The default setting is [Auto (ESCD)].
