EMC Symmetrix DMX-3 Product Guide

Data Integrity, Availability, and Protection

Global memory
access path
protection

Before Symmetrix global memory can accept data from a host
connection, it must ensure that the area to which the data is to be
written is without error. The Symmetrix system assures the highest
level of data integrity by checking data validity through the various
levels of the data transfer in and out of global memory.
