Remote Workstation Installation

Solaris Workstations

This section describes the procedures for installing Connectrix 
Manager on a remote Solaris workstation. To run the Connectrix 
Manager on a remote workstation, you must first download and 
install the Connectrix Manager application from the Connectrix 
service processor.

Requirements

The download and installation process requires the use of a 
workstation with the following minimum system requirements:

•

Operating systems: 

✦

SunOS version 5.5.1 or higher

✦

Solaris version 2.5.1 or higher

•

300 MHz (megahertz) UltraSPARC-II processor

•

32 MB (megabyte) RAM (random access memory)

•

15 MB available disk space

•

Video card supporting 256 colors at 800 x 600 resolution

•

Ethernet network adapter

•

Java-enabled Internet browser, such as Microsoft Internet 
Explorer (version 4.0 or later) or Netscape Navigator (version 4.0 
or later)

Newer versions of the Connectrix Manager or Product Managers 
installed on the Connectrix service processor will automatically 
download when the remote clients log in to the service processor.

Procedure

To install the Connectrix Manager on a remote workstation: 

1. Open a worldwide web browser and enter the URL (IP address or 

DNS host name) of the Connectrix service processor in the 
Location

 (Netscape) or Address (Internet Explorer) field of the 

browser.

Obtain the Connectrix service processor address from your network 
administrator.

This displays the following Web page.
