Coupling network
- Due to the various national safety instructions, the coupling network has
no on/off key as well as no internal fuse protection. The EUT must be
fused by the user.
- Due to the technical specification in the standard, higher ground currents
may be expected.
Therefore the CDN’s have to be connected to the reference ground plane
for proper safety. Ground fault detection relays can not be used in most
cases.
- It is not allowed to open the networks before the power supply is switched
off and the power cable is removed.
- After the mains are switched off the X/Y-capacitors may still be charged
for some seconds.

Calibration and testing
Test set-up
- When setting up the test, national and international regulations regarding
human safety have to be guaranteed.
- The test set-up must satisfy the international instructions of IEC 61000-4-6.
- The coupling/decoupling network must be grounded and connected to the
reference plane.
- For coupling the interference’s to the required lines, the corresponding
CDN must be used.
- The lines not being tested must be decoupled by a CDN which is
terminated at the coaxial input with 50
Ω
load resistor.
- All devices must be suitable for RF testing, especially all matching and
measuring devices.
