WL31/WL31TG
2.1.2 COMPATIBILITY WITH THE WL30 SYSTEM
WL30 systems can be updated by means of the WL31 control panel.
This is obtained by:
Replacing the control panel (and updating the STM30 communicator to 3.00 version) and keeping the
periphery devices installed yet;
Transferring the existing system setting from WL30 to WL31, via memory card.
The WL31 control panel
enables, on system “reset” operations via memory card, to read the memory cards of
WL30 control panels - fw. 1.40 and next versions, to display the version of the dectected control panel and to
allocate properly the parameters of the ‘former’ system.
With this function it is not required to acquire the devices again.
When transferring settings from WL30 to WL31, exception is made for the event memory and the time programmer
which is set to zero and deactivated.
2.2 SYSTEM COMPONENTS
2.2.1 CONTROL PANEL
The multifunction control panel is able to separately manage the signals as relating to 6 different
types of event: intrusion attempts, sabotage attempts, start of fires, technological alarms (e.g.
flooding), emergency and panic calls.
Up to four of the control panel sectors can be paralysed and freely programmed. To these
different INPUT and output devices can be allocated. Communication with the different devices is
carried out through a bi-directional radio module.
For programming and control there is an LCD display (two lines of 16 characters each plus 30 icons)
and a 21 key keyboard (16 alphanumeric and control keys plus 5 function keys which can be
programmed and personalized using pre-printed labels); the display and the keyboard are lit from
the back. The system programming and the configuration of the system control panel and of all the
peripheral devices is carried out via radio through an easy cascading menu, available in 6 languages
(Italian, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Finnish and Polish). For greater comfort
these operations can also be carried out using the specific Elkron software:
Local PC, using the RS232 or the USB serial interface;
Remote control, using a communicator and the remote management functions.
Inputs, outputs, sectors, codes, keyboards and remote controls can be “clearly named” for a faster identification, rather than
being identified by abbreviations. Each name can contain up to 10 characters.
The system configurations can also be saved on a removable Memory Card (optional), using the specific location inside the
control panel.
Inside the control panel there is a siren with high sound intensity, 2 relay outputs, 2 wire Inputs, and they are all programmable. The
powering of all the internal circuits and systems is guaranteed by two lithium thionyl 3.6 V high capacity batteries, which under normal
condition of use, enable up to about 2 years of life. The microprocessor manages the batteries energy flow to guarantee the continuous
operation of the system. Once every 24 hours the control panel carries out a test on the level of charge of the batteries and if necessary, it
signals any dead battery condition. This signal, for security reasons, is shown when it is still possible to guarantee an energy reserve which
lasts for about one month. Consequently, within one month from the dead battery signal, it is necessary to replace both batteries to
guarantee that the system works.
The control panel is equipped with physical protections (opening protections and removal protection) and with radio protections
(supervision and jamming check for the system communication channel and for the external siren). The following are some
more characteristics of the control panel:
Possibility to manage 18 access codes, each one from 4 to 6 figures;
Possibility to keep a record of the last 500 events, such as intrusion alarm, sabotage, activation / deactivation of the whole
system or of one single sector;
Possibility to program the supervision time;
Management of weekly time programmer with 8 daily time controls;
Simplified self-acquisition of peripheral devices.
The WL31 system capacity can be expanded through the following:
The I/O serial port, which can be equipped with the RS232 (IT RS232) serial interface module or with the USB (IT USB)
interface module;
The remote communication options offered by the STM30 telephone communicator modules (already included in the
WL31TG edition) and IMG30. Please refer to these products for more details;
The auxiliary powering from electric network (PS30) to compensate, for example, higher energy consumptions caused by the
GSM module when this is always active. If there is a PS30 power pack, this supplies the main power to the WL31 control
panel, whilst the batteries guarantee the spare energy when lacking power to the network.
