COMMISSIONING
This chapter illustrates the operations to be carried out for commissioning the alarm system, after fixing all
the devices and establishing all the connections.
Once the operations described in this chapter have been completed, you can move on to programming
the system. Refer to the
Programming Manual
for instructions.
5.1
System power
Check that the connections are correct before powering up the system. Then supply the power in the
sequence shown below.
1. If additional power supply units are present, power them before the control unit.
2. Insert the battery into the battery compartment of the control unit and connect the Faston connectors to
the respective terminals; red "+", black "-", then supply the mains voltage. The voltage at the ends of
the battery reaches a nominal 13.8 V at the end of the charge. The power supply does not need to be
calibrated.
IMPORTANT
Connect the Faston-eyelet adapters supplied with the metal box to the battery
terminals to connect the 18 Ah battery in the metal box.
IMPORTANT
The control unit has a battery control circuit. If the battery is not connected, there
is no voltage at the ends of the connecting cables (red and black Faston).
3. The PWR LED (mains presence) and +3V3 (logic power presence) will light up on the control unit. After
about 15 seconds the OPER LED flashes, after a few seconds the RUN LED also flashes. After about
20 seconds, the OPER LED goes out and after a further 10 seconds the control unit is operational with:
OPER LED (green) on, COM LED (green) flashing, RUN LED (red) flashing.
4. The message WAIT... will appear on the keypads, when they are powered up, until the CPU has
become operational, then display the stand-by messages will appear.
5. The PWR and +3V3 LEDs light up on the expansion modules when they are powered. When the CPU
is working, the BUS LED flashes.
6. Check that the voltages present on the devices comply with the requirements described in section
3.2.3
in the various points in the system.
Power conductor size.
