A screen as shown on the left appears.
Hold the sensor into the air
without
pulling the sleeve. Press
function key “Cal High”.
Place the sensor -
without using couplant
– onto an even
surface, press the sleeve down to the stop to ensure full contact
with the surface and press “Cal Low”.
The recalibration of the sensor has been stored to memory and
readjustment is done.
16.3.4 Readjust the sensor tip echo suppression
Approximately in the middle of measuring range # 5 (6300 ns) a wrong echo is produced. This
wrong echo is produced by multiple reflections in the sensor tip and cannot be avoided as it is due
to the design of sensor. To compensate for this error, QuintSonic features an automatic
suppression of this wrong echo. After a long-term and intensive use of the QuintSonic sensor, the
sensor tip may wear off a little causing the wrong echo to change its position. In such case, the
automatic wrong echo suppression will not work properly any more. To readjust the echo
suppression, please follow the instructions below:
16.3.5 Readjust the temperature compensation reference point
The travel time taken by the signal to travel through the sensor tip is determined by the measuring
system. QuintSonic 7 uses this value as a measure for the sensor tip temperature, i.e. as input
variable for the temperature compensation (see section 6.2).
After a long-term and extensive use of the senor, the sensor tip may wear off causing its total
length to reduce a little. In such case, the temperature compensation will not work with maximum
accuracy any more. Recalibrating the ultrasound velocity will correct for this error so that
measurement will not be affected. However, if you permanently use the sound velocity you have
